: This magnificent kachina is being relisted due to an invalid eBay account user name and address.
I was able to purchase a beautiful collection of Hopi Katsinas / Kachinas near First Mesa. Little by little the collection has been offered here on eBay, this is the tallest in the collection, stands a monumental 17″ tall and displays magnificently, please view photo #11 to see the collection. Photo #12 was provided as a ‘price comparison’ only, similar kachina’s are offered with $1,200.00+ price tags.
This beautiful example of the Hopi Pueblo Tawa Sunface is very finely hand carved & hand painted. Details include a carved sash, he is holding a flower and a rattle with great detail to his regalia. All the kachina’s I purchased were signed examples by renowned Hopi artists, however this Kachina is not signed. I was informed that this was a commissioned piece but I have no way to confirm that. The tag on this piece simply stated TAWA KATSINTITHU, 25/7767. So to be clear, I do not know who created this beautiful and striking Kachina. In excellent overall condition, please note: there is a natural dry crack in the base, shown. Please view all the photos, every angle possible photographed for your review.
