Pharmacological properties

Product’s composition
The preparation is a result of dry distillation made of the outside part of birch bark. It contains phenol, toluene, xylene, resins and other substances.
Use and dosage
Orally the preparation is administered as an antiseptic, antifermentative product in the form of 10% emulsion in dose:
• horses, cattle – 10-25g,
• small cattle, pigs – 2-5g,
• dogs – 0,1-1,0g,
• chickens – 0,05-2g.
For treatment of skin diseases the preparation is to be applied on the affected area 1-2 times a day during 5-12 days, in fungous diseases – up to 3 weeks. After application the preparation should be rubbed in skin nicely.
Tar in the form of 5% ointment as a keratoplastic remedy is administered for anticipation of hooves cracks healing in horses and coffin healing in cattle.
For disinfection of rooms, items for animal care and others tar is used in different solutions.

Фармакологические свойства
• оказывает антисептическое, дезинфицирующее, инсектицидное и противопаразитарное действия;
• обладает противовоспалительными, противозудными, обезжиривающими, дренажными свойствами, снижает экссудацию;
• улучшает кровоснабжение тканей, усиливает процесс ороговения, оказывает кератопластическое действие и ускоряет заживление повреждений кожи.
Состав продукта
Продукт сухой перегонки бересты березы. Содержит смесь фенолов, насыщенные и ненасыщенные кислоты жирного ряда, углеводороды различных классов.
Применение и дозировка
При кожных заболеваниях средство тщательно втирают на пораженные участки кожи 1-2 раза в сутки в течение 5-12 дней, при грибковых заболеваниях – до 3-х недель.
Для профилактики трещин, расколов, чрезмерного ороговения рогового башмака, подошвы копыта и копытной стрелки средство втирают ватно-марлевым тампоном в очищенную и сухую подошву и копытную стрелку.
Для дезинфекции помещений, скотных дворов, выгребных ям, предметов ухода за животными и стойл применяют в чистом виде или в виде 5-10 % эмульсии.
Для обеззараживания кожаной сбруи используют чистый деготь.
Продукцию животного происхождения, полученную во время и после применения «Дегтя берестового», разрешается использовать без ограничений через 7 суток после последнего применения.
